The written word has traditionally been set down on a structured page, from the grids of religious scrolls and printed books to the prefab templates of digital communication. My artwork explores the painterly potential of language and image that plays with, redefines or altogether disregards this norm. Decontextualized symbols and mass-produced icons that evoke personal memories are reimagined as written landscapes, ambiguous texts, and abstract open visual dialogue. The resulting images comprise the unique pages of my particular narrative.
